Launching your website shouldn't be done hastily as you'd want to make a good first impression on your customers. In order to push your site to go live, you will need to follow what is in this article.
DNS Changes and Pointing the Domain
Make Sure You're Ready to Go
Note: Important that you're checking and making sure your site is in working order before pushing live
Before you go live you will want to make sure you're ready to go. This means making sure your Design is finished and how you want it, your Products are up and working, placed Test Orders, set up your Payment Gateways and Shipping. Once you have finished this, you can move on.
Purchase a Domain
If you haven't already purchased a Domain Name you can do so from many of the Domain Registrar sites out there. Some of the popular ones that our customers use are GoDaddy, Google, Bluehost, etc. This link will show you some of the top ones.
Contact Support
Once you have done the first two things, you will want to let us know so we can make the changes on the server and get your SSL installed. Also at this point, if you're using a Dedicated SSL we will get your Dedicated IP set, and set up the CSR which is used to order your SSL.
You can also order a BYO (Bring Your Own) SSL, this is a one time fee of $99.00 and all we do is generate the CSR and provide you with that each year so you can order your SSL and provide us with the Cert and CA cert. The cost is for the reservation of the Dedicated IP address.
We will make all the changes on the server and in the Database with the GlobalServerPath, HTTP, and https URLs.
After we have made these changes, we will then provide you with your Dedicate IP.
DNS Changes and Pointing the Domain
Now you have your Dedicated IP and all the changes, you will need to go back to where you registered your Domain Name and point to us. The links at the bottom of this page will help and assist you in doing this.
Keep in mind that the DNS Propagation can take anywhere up to 24hrs, or as long as 48hrs.
