Connecting to FTP

Note: The FTP information below is for Plesk and Filezilla. Any Server or FTP client will also work.

If you don't have your FTP information and are a hosted customer, please reach out to Support and we will be glad to help you. If you have your Server Information and can log in, this article will help you set it up and get you into FTP with instructions (Filezilla).

Image Naming

Your image names will need to be based on Product ID in the Admin of the cart:

product ID

If you're going to upload Secondary Images, these will be named the same, except with one slight difference. So if I have 2 Secondary Images for the product above, they will be named as follows:

note_10-1.jpg

note_10-2.jpg

Now if we name a Primary Image using the Mixed IDs above, they will look like the following, and this time we will use underscores:

note_10.jpg

The image below illustrates how they look within my FTP client on the server:

Each Image ID will need a dash and a proceeding number following it to identify the order and number of Secondary image that is being used. If you have duplicate IDs for either the Primary Image or Secondary, this will cause the images not to show up in the cart and the Admin.

Upload path

Note: Depending on your server structure, this path may be different but yet straightforward to find.

Once logged into FTP, the following paths will be where you can upload your Product Images:

CPanel:

/public_html/images/products

/public_html/images/products/secondary

Plesk:

httpdocs/images/products

httpdocs/images/products/secondary

This can also be different if your store is in a sub-directory on the server, for example, my server has many different directories for stock versions of the cart:

directories

and the directory I'm using from above is cart380, so technically I'm accessing mydomainname.com/cart380/

cart380 directory

After your images are uploaded into the cart, you will want to use the Thumbnail Generator to sync images to the Products.

The Thumbnail Generator can be found by using the Search icon in the Admin or by going to Products & Categories >Thumbnail Generator

and if you're using Secondary Images, you will want to use the "Synchronize Secondary Images" button first, then Generate Thumbnails:

Once you have done all this your images should be matched up to the Products. If they're not you will want to check your Image names, make sure there are no duplicates, and no special characters outside of "- dashes", and "_underscores"

None at this time.
